Today it is the programme “Technik zum Menschen bringen” (Bringing technology to the people).

How do you align / coordinate the different points of view in your country?*

There are several types of exchanging information and aligning processes: – distribution and exchange knowledge and infromation in general through regular email inqueries/conversations, videoconferences, telcos, meetings etc. – through SC 1 and SC 6 as well as ICT national contact points (national levelEuropean level), the latter are working e.g. at DLR, a project management agency being responsible collect and afterwards to supply the necessary information in the meetings etc., in the aftermath relevant information has to be distributed back to national level for the “closing the circle” – more information flow: in Jour Fixe Joint Programming (management agencies together with the BMBF), ressort meetings esp. regarding Horizon 2020, SC 6 and JPI s in general), working groups regarding coordination instruments – Involvement of other ministries regading topics directly in the JPI MYBL or in JPI MYBL projects (e.g. the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) as well as the German Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi)

Communication & stakeholders

How do you communicate / disseminate the JPI MYBL SRA and activities within your country? And which organisations in your country are interested?

‘similar to alignment and coordination stated above; distribution of information to stakeholders etc. like DZA (German Centre of gerontology), BAGSO (German National Association of Senior Citizens’ Organization) and others -> the mentioned ones are also members of the JPI MYBL advisory boards, so there are fruitful overlaps and thematic intersection to use for synergy purposes

Sucess stories of alignment

During the last 10 years, German STI policy is marked by more mission-oriented and aligned RTD-initaitives. A keystone is the Hightech-Strategy introduced in the year 2016, that was frequently updated and focuses on societal challenges and priorities comparable to H2020.
In the field of demografic change, the inter-ministry national reserach agenda “The new Future of old Age” (2013 – 2106) was a succesfull approach to concentrate research in an interdisciplinary topic by defining 6 distinctive thematic areas. The research agenda was complementary to the national strategy on demography “Every Age counts”.
